Ha! I told ya!

See! I told you I'm not very good at blogging! Mainly because there just isn't that much going on around here! My son, Austin is finally on the downside of the cold he had, he still is coughing but he isn't looking quite like a zombie anymore!
The weeds and dandelions are taking over! The gal next door was spraying her back yard today with weed killer but that's all her backyard consists of and they are almost 2 ft high!
I would like to start a small garden but I would be the only one working on it and I dont think I can do it by myself! I saw a pretty neat idea on Pinterest for using a pallet to plant in but I don't know where I would get a cheap pallet!
We are having catfish and shrimp for dinner so I guess I should go get the kitchen ready for that since we will be using the deep fryer. I might even do up some fried pickles too!

What is up with this fog!

Another foggy morning, luckily I don't have to go out in it! Not much going on today except making beads, same ol same ol. For those of you that got the day off, enjoy!
I would like to ask for some prayers today for my Uncle Dick who suffered a stroke last week and for David's cousin Judy that is in the hospital. Some of you met my Uncle when I taught a class up in Spokane a few years ago.
Well the beads won't make themselves ( that would be awesome! ) so I guess I better get out there! Happy Presidents Day y'all!

Good morning!

Haven't looked outside yet but I know it's a chilly one! Don't know if we will get anymore rain but we welcome any we can get because we know it will be another hot summer again this year! Wish I could stay under this blanket!
I was going to make beads yesterday but got sucked into Whitney's funeral for most of it. It was a nice service and I enjoyed the stories that everyone shared. Today I will be back on the torch for sure! Y'all enjoy your Sunday and Monday if you have it off!

Wha! It be snowing!

Well winter finally made it to Killeen...for a whole 30 mins! It was sleeting for a little while and then it started snowing. We had some pretty big flakes but nothin was sticking because it was 42 degrees. It's now back to sleeting again. It's supposed to be cold again tonight and then raining all day tomorrow to where it will be warmed back up to 75 on Tues! You can't tell me there is no global warming!

Early Valentines Day

David and I don't do crowds so we decided to go celebrate Valentines day a little early. We went to Red Lobster to enjoy a nice seafood dinner. Well it was a thought! We somehow ended up in the section that should have been at the McDonalds playscape! I felt like I was sitting next to Stewie from Family Guy. The little boy kept trying to get his moms attention and she would just ignore him. "Mom! Mom! Mom! Mommy! Mommy! Momma! Mom! etc. she finally firmed around when he screamed at the top of his lungs! We get our dinner which would have been better without Stewie but it was good. We did have a laugh at one of the waiters that brought some bread to the table behind us. The customer asked him how he was doing and he said "alright man, just living the dream!" David and just looked at each other and started cracking up! We did have a good time out though regardless of " Little Stewie".

Mmmmm, lunch!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I got most of my bead table/ mailing table organized! Taking a lunch break, having crackers with cream cheese and jalapeño jelly on them! Yummy!

Will Phil see his shadow or not?

It's cloudy here but I don't know how the weather is where Phil is so will we have 6 more weeks of winter or not? If we do, maybe we'll actually see some winter weather here! LOL! I've been working on organizing my bead/mailing tables and once I get everything in it's place I'll post a picture of it! I'm still finding beads here and there (these beads keep multiplying like rabbits!!) I'll be in the studio again today, not sure yet what I'll be making till I sit down! Some days I know what I'm gonna do before I get out there, most other days though, I won't know what I'll end up making till I get out there! Almost the weekend! Hope to be able to finish organizing and maybe finish painting the kitchen! Gotta run! Y'all have a great day!

Crazy morning!

Hate rushed mornings! I thought I would make breakfast for Austin before class, mistimed it so he had 5 mins to eat! Ok rush to finish getting ready, out the door we go.
We get about a mile from the house and he realizes he forgot a pen, his wallet and his phone! Turn around and race back to the house, he gets it and we are off again! Half way to school he tells me that his professor is going to start putting up a sign on the door and if that sign is up, too bad for you of you are late.....he was going to start that.....today!
I go park on the circle which is where I took the picture, and wait to see if he made it not. While I'm sitting there waiting I got to listen to the geese honking away. Well he made it! Whew! So back home I go only to find out something may be wrong with my computer! Can I just go back to bed and start this day over?

My new bead shelf! Yay me!

I found a new use for that bright yellow I had for the kitchen, that we painted over! I'm painting this shelf that I am going to use for my beads! I didn't like the black so I'm using that bright yellow to paint over it! It will look better on the shelf than on the wall! LOL! You can see the yellow color on the inside of the shelf, bright and happy! :) I'll have to do at least 2 coats to cover up the black but thats ok. Taking a break to let it dry before I add the 2nd coat. I'm only doing half at a time, that way I can flip it over when it's dry and won't have to turn into a contortionist to finish! It's another gorgeous winter day here, winter, ya right! LOL!

Winter has apparently escaped us!

Yes, that is green grass, in January! This has been the craziest winter I can remember! Normally, we wouldn't have grass, it would be that lovely tan color that you see in dead grass. I think the lawns around here are greener now than they were this past summer.
You would think it was Spring around here with everyone mowing their yards and edging. LOL! It sure does make for a nice day though so I can't really complain! Gotta get out to the studio! Have a good one!

Back to work

Well it's back to work for me today, the Ebay cupboard is bare! I showed a couple of pics of the dining room and kitchen that we have been working on, on my Facebook. My sil and bil are very happy with what we have got done so far with it! We still have the ceiling and cabinets to paint and the backsplash and behind the stove to do.
We want to put the tin ceiling tiles for the backsplash and behind the stove. My other bil gave me some shelves that will come in handy also!
Well the beads aren't gonna make themselves ( that would be awesome though!) so I'm outta here! Y'all have a great day!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

I'm playing with a new app for my phone! Love this app! It's really gonna help with my photography skillz I hope! LOL! We have company coming in today so I won't get back to work till tomorrow. We have been working on the kitchen though so I guess I've been working! Hee hee! Gotta get in the shower and things straightened up around here! Y'all have a great day!

Aleve is my best friend today!

I hope I haven't overdone it and the Aleve won't work! I could barely move last night! We had to go to the mall last night and I could barely walk, the ibuprofen is not working anymore, I looked like a little (well not so little) old lady walking around there! Got me some Aleve so I'm hoping that will help!
We are making progress on the kitchen painting! We still have paint the ceiling, chair rails and another coat of they yellow to go plus touch ups here and there but we will be done with that hopefully today! Pray for me that I don't kill myself in the process! LOL!

One ark to go please!

Holy moly, we are getting all the rain we didn't get this past summer right now! We are under flash flood warning and tornado watch or warning, I miss that part! It started storming last night around 2 am and it hasn't stopped yet! I have no idea yet if we have limbs down or what damage if any we have! Gotta wait till daylight happens. It kept me awake most of the night, which will be so much fun later on this morning when we begin to paint the kitchen! It's so windy out there too, just a nasty day ahead it looks like!

Paint day!

We are finally gonna tackle the kitchen! Got to get a different yellow for the wall. What I have up there is just too bright, even for me! LOL! I want to get more of a softer, custard yellow. We are doing the top half yellow and using the green we did the living room for the bottom with a white chair rail to divide the two colors. We have to get some more white also to paint the cabinets.
I don't think we have enough celery color for the ceiling left so we will have to get some more of that. I'm gonna check on the tin ceiling tiles also while we are there. I want to put those behind the stove and as a back splash on the wall where the sink is. Love those tiles! If I had a dishwasher I would put them on the outside of that too! Well, gonna go get my day started, hope yours is a good one!

I need earplugs!

Worst...nights...sleep last night! I need to get some earplugs because Austin was up till 1am playing his online game, I know because I had to get up and ask him if he remember he had school today! :-(  I forgot to take the motrin last night so I tossed and turned all night because of my neck and lower back in pain. And it's Monday. Blech! Not a good start to my week to say the least! I'm gonna go catch up on some shows, hope y'all have a better day!

Winter? Really?

It's supposed to be 83 today, wonder if we will even see winter this year. It's been extremely mild, which I'm not complaining one bit except that usually means we are going under the broiler this summer! We've only had a couple of really cold days so far.
Today, I don't think I have to go anywhere but out to the studio! Oh wait, I do have to go to the post office since Paypal won't put First Class International shipping as a choice for their postage. Grrrr!!  I will be finishing up a special order and making something for da Bay, just not sure yet what. The discs are still popular so I guess I'll make some more of those. If I'm gonna get anything made today, I need to get going! Y'all have a great weekend!

Sneezing my fool head off!

OMG! I can't stop sneezing this morning! Woke up early again too darn it! I don't have allergies, I don't think so but not sure why I'm sneezing so much! We've started a new schedule now that Austin is back in school. His classes are at 9am every morning except Fridays when there is no school. Mon and Wed will be his long day because of the way his classes fall. Tues and Thurs, he's out by noon.

It was errand day yesterday so no beads were made but I'll be back in there today. Not much really happening around here, it's cold this morning, down to 32 but it will be back up in the warm temp later on today. This is how people get sick around here, really cold mornings with warm temps in the afternoons! Well I'm gonna go re-package some more seed beads, I got more containers in yesterday!

School tomorrow!

Austin starts back to school tomorrow and he is taking 4 classes this semester! Yay! He is working on getting his degree to be a History Teacher. He loves history, always has! He likes going to college too. :)
I'm fixin to make some pork fried rice for supper and then we are having strawberry pineapple cake for dessert. It's pineapple because that's the only cake mix I had and David brought home strawberries sooo that's what we are having! LOL!
Today's torch time brought more colorful discs! They will be going up later on this evening on Ebay. I'm really having fun making them and my customers seem to like them a lot! :) I should be finishing up the order by the end of the week also. Well, just a short update today, not much else going on around here so I will get started on supper. Have a great evening!

Woke up before the birds did!

I really don't like waking up early, especially when I don't have to!!! All it does is make me want a nap unless I can stay busy. Normally the coffee dosen't help either. I have new glass though so I hopefully will stay busy today! I am working on a large order of striped bicone beads, which is why there isn't much up on Ebay right now.
I went to my friend's house in Salado yesterday, it is so quiet out there, really nice! Their studio is in an old barn that used to be the ranch hand's house, complete with kitchen, full bath, living area. Really nice for a studio!! I now have a small refrigerator out in my studio that they gave me! Now I just need a bathroom and cable out there and I'd be set! LOL!
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap cd player? I would really like to start listening to audio books while I melt glass. I don't really like to read but I'm a great listener! I want to check out the library, see what they have to offer! Well it looks like my cup has runneth out so gonna get me another cuppa and get my day started! :-)

Woke up in a bad mood......

....but I'm in a better mood now! I still have a slight headache and hoping the coffee will take care of that but my mood went in a different direction after I checked my AMR page on Facebook. There was a contest being held by a fellow beader to win the book in the picture above. I didn't think I had a snowball's chance in hell of winning but guess who won? Teehee!! I'm doing a happy dance this morning! I've been wanting this book for a while now!
Maybe getting my beads a little bit organized helped with the mojo to win. LOL! I don't know but I'm happy I won! Maybe it will help with some inspiration for my own beading. I've been wanting to take a new direction with my work, maybe this will be the kick I needed. It's cold again this morning and I've got to go out and put the heater on and get to making beads before I head off to my friend's house in Salado to go pick up my glass order that she picked up for me! I'm so thankful she did this for me, saved me a trip to Austin. Y'all have a great weekend! 

It was cold!!

According to my kiln when I turned her on (yes, her!) it was 37 out in the studio! Brrrrrr! I'm letting it warm up a little out there before I go try to battle the glass and make beads! When I say battle the glass, it's battleing thermal shock and shrapnel! LOL! The picture above is a couple of peices of artwork that are above my workbench, I won on Ebay a few years ago from Lynne Newman! I just love her work! I have 4 of her peices, including my avatar for my Facebook AMR GlassWorks page. I really need to get them framed!
Apparently the City of Killeen is finally getting around to taking out the ugly stump that is in front of my neighbor's house, which is great but why do they have to do it so early in the morning? And why does it take 10 people to do it? There is one person that handled the chain saw and one person to run the Cat rootdigger and the other 8 to stand around yakking and watching! How do I get that job? LOL! I can stand around and yak just as good as the next person! LOL!
Hopefully things have warmed up enough out there to get started on the beads! Y'all have a great day, it's partly sunny and cold here but it is warming up!

Windy night!

I really hate being a human barometer! It was sooo windy last night, woke up with a headache. My son was up half the night playing some online game with his friends. He really has no idea how much his voice carries through these thin walls! Needless to say between the wind and him, I didn't get a whole lotta sleep last night! Hate nights like that, I always wake up groggy and grouchy the next morning! This morning I've got to run an errand and then come back and place an order of glass! A friend of mine is going to pick it up for me so I will get to see her and her partner this weekend! Haven't got to see them in forever it seems! I think I'm going to make some more discs today, I really am liking them! I finished a t-shirt yesterday, that took a whole 30 mins top, if that to do. I got the idea off of Pinterest (love that site!) I'm going to work on a peasant blouse next I think, made from one of David's old shirts! Tee hee! I love to re-purpose clothing! It's going to be another pretty day here, maybe not as warm as yesterday but still pretty...and windy! Y'all have a great one!

Bubble Tea! Squee!!!

David, Austin and I just went and tried a Pho resterant up the road here and we have found another resterant we like! And.....they have Bubble Teas!!!! Soooo happy now! I love bubble teas, I know some of you think they are really gross but I just love them! I'm still playing around, trying to get this blog thing right so if my page looks a little crazy, I'm still working on it!! LOL!

A new year!

I meant to start a blog this year! I'm not very good at blogging so I will try to keep up with this! I had a blog on my website for a little while but kept forgetting to update! That's the ADD in me I suppose. ;-) I don't live a super exciting life so I don't know if anyone would want to follow me or not. LOL! Something I did start on Jan 1st was taking a daily picture, so far so good! I've been posting those on my Facebook and people seem to enjoy them. I would like to get better at photography, my dad loved to play around a lot with his camera. I'm a lot like my dad and I really miss him! He is where I got my creativeness (and my ADD) from. I'll add daily pics here as well. Guess that's one way to get me to blog every day! Hee hee! Welp, gotta get me some breakfast and then out to the studio to make magic...or just to melt something!
